What is Eyelid surgery or Blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty is a treatment that its purpose is to remove fat and excess skin in the area of the eyelids, both lower and upper.

It corrects flaccidity and reduces the lower fat pockets that give the appearance of greater longevity and wear than it really is. Correcting this not only helps aesthetically but can also help improve vision.

However, it is necessary to make it clear that, if you are looking to eliminate crow’s feet or wrinkles, this treatment will not be useful, for this type of purpose Botox® is usually used, which eliminates a little dark circles, but does not raise fallen eyebrows.

One of the advantages of this treatment is that it can be performed at the same time as other types of facial treatments, such as rhinoplasty or a facelift.
It is usually an outpatient procedure and is performed under sedation or general anesthesia. The duration of the surgical process ranges from 1 to 3 hours approximately.

You don’t need a lot of time to recover. For two to three days you must be taken care at home. After seven to 10 days you can go back to your regular work. And for the next three to four weeks, you can go back to your normal life and perform all your daily activities without a hitch. However, the ecchymosis could be present for several weeks.
