What is the Preserve technique in breast augmentation?

The Preserve technique (or “preservative” method) is an advanced augmentation mammoplasty that aims to maintain as much of the natural breast anatomy as possible—the muscle, connective tissue, and fascia—by creating a subfascial or intermediate pocket for highly cohesive silicone implants. The aim is to add volume and projection while preserving function and stability of mammary tissue.

During the procedure, careful incisions are made (commonly inframammary, periareolar, or sometimes transaxillary), a gentle dissection is done into the subfascial plane, the implant is inserted, and drains or fixation may be placed as needed.
